What is it about being a Mom that make you cry at every sappy movie, commercial or song?
I swear, I wasn't even this emotional when I was a teenager going through puberty!
When I was younger, Heather used to LOVE country, and because we didn't get a long, I hated it just to spite her. As I grew and matured, I accepted the fact that country music was in my soul and have been a convert ever since. The message they carry speak to me...they mean something to me, and I can relate to nearly every one.
Yesterday, as I was driving home from work, several songs came on sequentially that had me blubbering like a fool. I actually had to sit outside of Jadyn's preschool for a minute so that I could go in without looking like something terrible had happened that forced me to break down.
As my kids are getting older, mainly Paige, I find myself constantly fast-forwarding in my mind to her teenage years and longing to prepare her for what she's only a few years from facing...boys, hormones, peer pressure, cliques, and social outings. I wish I could capture all of my experience and shove it in a box to give her so that she won't have to deal with all of the hardships that teenagers endure, and so that she will know that all of those petty little things really don't matter when you're my age.
Kelly Pickler has a song, "Don't you know you're beautiful" that carries THE MOST important message I want Paige to learn.
Billy Ray Cyrus sings a song with Miley called "Ready, Set, Don't Go" that literally had me bawling as I thought about how incredibly hard it will be for me to tell my kids "goodbye" when it's time for them to leave.
Am I alone here, or do you other Moms get teary eyed when you see things that remind you of your kids?

I cry over the silliest things. My kids are SOOO going to be embarrassed to stand by me. Whenever I'm prego it's like a million times worse. It's a good thing I married such a sapp. We cry over Hallmark movies together :o)
*Don't tell Chip I told you!
your secret is safe with me! Elmo is a sap too...he cried during HSM3 with Paige! Shhhh....
Well, I'm a huge sap. Remember you and Heather used to see who's MD or B-day card could get me to cry? That was mean....lol I just doesn't take much for me to cry either. It doesn't matter how long you've been a mom; there's something that short circuits your emotions when you become a mother that sticks with you for life. My advice....make the most of the time you have with your kids because they're gone in a heartbeat.
