Weekend

It's hard to believe that the high Friday was 96° and Saturday's high was only 70°. Add in some mist and high winds, and you have some pretty chilly conditions! Now we're looking at high 60's low 70's...and high 40's in the morning!

Elmo's sister, Adriana, planned our niece's 6th birthday party at a park with a splash pad. The invitation specified bringing swimsuits and to prepare to get wet. I didn't want to be the mean mom who didn't let their kids wear a swimsuit, so I let Paige & Coleton put one on under their clothes...on the rare chance it warmed up.

The party was a lot of fun, and the kids had a great time playing on the playground and with the games that Adriana planned. It is no surprise that no one (NO ONE) went in the water. Kids were asking their moms if they had jackets...it was really that cold.

Everyone here says "that's why we live in AZ". Why is that exactly? For the 120° summers? Or the immediate chill that follows? It seems like there is NEVER a medium...it's either HOT or COLD. Where are the 80's???

What a difference a day makes.

two words:
NO SNOW

True, true. I remember the snow...

There are positives & negatives to ever climate...at least you get into the holiday spirit easily with the changing leaves & snowfall. Here, there are no leaves to change, only palm trees & cactus, and if I want to see snow I have to drive a few hours north to Flagstaff! It's hard to get in the Christmas spirit when you're still wearing shorts...and opening presents with the doors & windows open.

But, you're right. As least I don't have to bundle the kids in 8 layers before we can go anywhere, scrape off & warm up the car, and then have to deal with being HOT in stores b/c we're so bundled up!
