I've been Hit

I am so extremely mad right now!!

This morning as I was taking Jadyn to her preschool, some CLUELESS lady completely blew a stop sign and slammed into my side. Luckily, I noticed that she wasn't going to stop and swerved (while BLARING my horn), leaving only my tail end to hit. I thought for a moment (before the impact) that I was going to swerve enough that she wouldn't hit me, but all too soon my wishful thinking was interrupted by a loud SMACK and startling SHAKE. I couldn't believe it.

As I got out of my car, I braced myself for the damage I was about to see on my barely 6 month old beautiful blue car. To my surprise, as I neared the rear, my bumper was completely gone! I looked around & to the side of my car and saw that my bumper had been hit so hard, it had been projected nearly 20 feet away. What a idiot!

As we were exchanging information, Lisa (Jadyn's preschool teacher) drove up and stopped to make sure everyone was OK. We were (which I know is what's important), but I was FUMING.

Lisa asked what happened, and the lady said, "I'm so sorry, I didn't stop all the way." Didn't stop all the way?? Try DIDN'T STOP AT ALL!!!! I told her (the lady), "You didn't even touch your breaks to stop at the stop sign."

Now, I know I must seem like a complete jerk, being so blunt with this lady, but really....HOW COULD SHE NOT HAVE SEEN ME? WHAT WAS SHE DOING?? This accident happened in a housing subdivision, literally 1 minute from preschool and the other lady's house. I KNOW she knew there was a stop sign there...but probably driving it 5 times a day, she just goes through the motions, and doesn't look before she goes.

I AM glad that everyone is OK

I AM lucky that Jadyn was on the OTHER side of the car

I AM lucky that I noticed her not stopping and moved further away from her blow, most definitely decreasing the amount of damage

but....now I'll be out a car for at least a week...and my brand new beauty will forever be known as having been in an accident and needing repairs. She chipped my paint, dented my side, and completely demolished my bumper.

Chalk one up for Arizona drivers.

wow. you were EXTREMELY lucky! Thank goodness for prayers huh?
you'll have to post pictures of the damage.
Hopefully that lady's insurance will still be active by the time you make the claim :o)
And, try to get the porche when you're getting your rental car. :o)
